Roland White was a covert operative for the Commonwealth during the Moonfall Wars, where he befriended the titan general Som. Together, they facilitated a peaceful end to the war – but it ultimately cost Roland his career, and Som his life.
The explosion that killed Som left a piece of his mask – a psychic amplifier made of demon iron – embedded in Roland's arm. Through it, he can assume Som's iron form, and catch echoes of his memories.
With no home or country to return to, Roland now travels the Restless Zones, using his strange expertise to scrape together a living, one job at a time.
